Brunswick Mill is a Grade II listed cotton mill on the Ashton Canal in New Islington, being converted into 153 apartments with one, two and three bedrooms. Built in 1839 by David Bellhouse, it was once one of the largest mills in the country and is said to have been the first mill in Manchester to run on electricity.
The conversion keeps what makes the building special: exposed brickwork, tall ceilings and large industrial style windows that fill each home with daylight. Kitchens come with integrated appliances and bathrooms are finished with modern fittings, so the homes feel warm and practical as well as full of character.
New Islington has become one of the most sought after neighbourhoods in Manchester, with canal side cafés, Cutting Room Square in Ancoats close by and the city centre within walking distance. The Etihad Stadium is about half a mile away. Residents have a concierge, parking and bike storage.
